Our locals want their village looks beautiful, clean and comfortable. So why not
Kampung Kota Bersama is a program initiated by the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP) Indonesia to help organize a number of urban kampung in Jakarta and its surrounding areas to be more friendly to pedestrians and cyclists.
To realize it, surely it needs the role of its villagers that we can see in RW 01 area, Kamal Muara Urban Village, North Jakarta. Besides beautifying streets and gapura (gate), local residents also intensify the greening of the environment.
According to Herwin Ginting, Head of Kamal Muara Urban Village, this initiative stems from the enthusiasm of the people to create a clean, beautiful and comfortable environment. It provides support and facilitates the needs of citizens.
"Our locals want their village looks beautiful, clean and comfortable. So why not," he expressed, Friday (7/19).
He furthered that it has been carried out since April and is hoped to be complete in the forthcoming August.
"Aside that, the Maghrib Mengaji (Quran recital after maghrib prayer) and study night activities in RPTRA have also become our routine agenda here," he said.
